Dorothy Santana

Dorothy Santana, MSW, is President and Founder of Latina Moms Connect, whose mission is to build community connections that support Latino/Latinx cultural preservation, nurture cultural identity and give voice to issues that impact the Latino/Latinx community. Dorothy has a long history of advocacy and service delivery and is a proficient, dynamic facilitator with over 15 years of experience in leadership development and training. She is self-driven, adaptable, and motivated with a passion for building community, leadership development, cultural responsiveness, and social justice issues. Dorothy possesses a master’s degree in Social Work from Stony Brook University’s School of Social Welfare and is currently committed to working with Long Island University’s Center for Community Inclusion as their Culturally Responsive Education Specialist. Dorothy is a natural community builder, with rich global intercultural fluency. Her excellent reputation for building community relations and strengthening family cultural narratives to support family cultural connectedness and children's identity formation continues to strengthen in her work. Dorothy maintains actively engaged through her work as President of Latina Moms Connect, Board Member of 100 Hispanic Women of Long Island, Parent Delegate with the New York State Association for Bilingual Education (NYSABE), and more. Dorothy’s multi-talented community service and work are consistently rewarded for its success. She is a proud mother of four who supports her work along with her husband. She is an enthusiast of culture, music, and art, lives what she believes, and imparts to her children and others the importance of diversity, and embracing the richness of others.
