DR Mann Hanson (he/him) - Artist, Activist, and Entrepreneur, DR has a BA in Theatre from San
Francisco State University and uses his 20-plus years as a theatre maker to create space for people,
specifically his Queer people. When he opened Common Ground Games with his husband in 2013, he
created a small business dedicated to providing jobs to LGBTQ individuals while also serving the greater
gaming community by creating an inclusive gameplay space for gamers of all levels and identities. When
he founded CinéWilde in 2014, Texas’ only monthly LGBTQ Film Series, he created an institution
dedicated to Education, Entertainment, & Engagement using films created by Queer artists. When he made the Dallas Radical Faerie page on Facebook, he created space for intergeneration connection
between LGBTQ individuals that has grown to monthly gatherings where art and genuine friendships
flourish. When he leaves his house in a skirt and chunky necklace, he creates space for everyone around
him to live their best authentic lives as loud as they desire. A Homecoming King nominee, DR is thrilled
to be making his SPEAK debut exploring the multifaceted idea of home and the journeys we take to find
it. He lives in Dallas with his husband of 17 years and their two cats.
