Jahzeel Montes is an active guitarist, music instructor, and the Founder/Executive Director of Internal Creations, Inc. Jahzeel Montes, a native from Washington Heights, Manhattan, attended SUNY Fredonia and studied classical guitar under the guidance of James Piorkowski and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Music Education with a focus on classical guitar and orchestra. Jahzeel always had a passion of giving back to his community since he was declared an Eagle Scout in his at eighteen years old. Since coming back to the Big Apple, Jahzeel has worked with various non-profit organizations as a teaching artist to create guitar programs in NYC schools. In 2014, Jahzeel founded and incorporated Internal Creations, a classical guitar no-profit with a mission to develop leadership, self-sufficiency and life skills through learning the classical guitar to create fearless and independent citizens. Along with being an educator and social entrepreneur, Jahzeel is also an active musician in NYC playing in a bands of all genres ranging from hip hop, Blues, Classical, Electronic, all the way through Heavy Metal, which has taken him on tour in 2012 to Germany, France and a US tour in 2016. Jahzeel Montes is also a singer songwriter who loves to arrange his compositions into a multi- piece band work for purposes of the strong notion of collaboration with other skilled musicians. Currently working on his rock fusions band’s full length records, music production with producers in the Latin trap, hip hop and reggaeton industry and leading Internal Creations, Jahzeel continues to teach, educate and learn simultaneously through his students and other musicians to improve himself as a person and a musician as a means to “practice what we preach” to our students.
