SPEAK: Transformation

Mairead Loughran Ryan is a qualified mental health nurse and established campaigner working on both a local level with government, schools and those at the forefront of adversity in society. She worked on Mystoryyourstory steering group, Northern Ireland Commissioner for Children and Young People whilst completing her degree in mental health nursing and balancing it with hobbies such as Irish dancing. These platforms have offered Mairead opportunities to represent the NI at the European Advisory Youth Network in Barcelona, represent the NI at the UN 70th anniversary Community Enrichment Project and speak alongside UN representative Danius Porus. She was the RCN student nurse of the year in the UK for her voluntary work alongside her studies. Following the success MyStoryYourStory brought to both the young people involved and society, it made sense to establish an independent social enterprise so that she could continue outreach. This is Voicing the Void.
