Description
Welcome to the next pop-up event from SPEAK, the public speaking platform for people with ideas and stories. The theme for this pop-up is “Seasons” where we will be exploring the ideas and stories of a group of unique and diverse individuals in relation to our theme. Brought to you by producers George Andriopoulos, Fred P. Banny and Jason Martin.
“If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant; if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome.”
Anne Bradstreet
SPEAK: Seasons takes on one of our most fluid themes in recent memory. If you look up the word “season” in the dictionary, you would pull up any number of definitions: a time characterized by a particular circumstance or feature; suitable or natural time or occasion; an indefinite period of time; a period of the year characterized by or associated with a particular activity or phenomenon; one of the four quarters into which the year is commonly divided; the time of a major holiday; a period of time when a series of new television shows, plays, etc., are being shown or performed; the schedule of official games played or to be played by a sports team during a playing season; to give (food) more flavor or zest by adding seasoning or savory ingredients. We could go on but you get the idea. These talks will feature creative takes on seasons in their own, unique way.
