Welcome to the next pop-up event from SPEAK, the public speaking platform for people with ideas and stories. The theme for this pop-up is “Heritage” where we will be exploring the ideas and stories of 10 unique and diverse individuals in relation to our theme. Brought to you by producer Dana Lopez.

The Heritage Council of Ireland describes heritage as “…what we have inherited from the past, to value and enjoy in the present, and to preserve and pass on to future generations.*

SPEAK: Heritage will be a celebration of how our heritage truly shapes who we are and who we have become. By inviting a diverse group of 10 speakers from different cultures, backgrounds, countries, ethnicities and upbringings, we will hear their individual stories of how their heritage was an influence on their lives and character, both positive and negative, but the goal is to somehow see them weave together within the common theme. The stories will spotlight the intangible, cultural attributes that we have received as products of our environments. Our hope is that people will leave SPEAK: Heritage with a better understanding of how different and similar our stories can be, and to reflect on how their own heritage made them who they are today. 

Housekeeping

Our Venue, Governor’s Comedy Club, provides cabaret style seating. Dinner and drinks are available from your waitstaff and there is a 2 item minimum purchase per person require by the venue. Come down and enjoy our 10 incredible SPEAKers on July 27th!
